Commitment to Sustainability

As well as being a proud Australian manufacturer, John Cotton Australia has a proud history of reducing our environmental impact and becoming more sustainable.

For example, Tontine was one of the pioneers in using recycled polyester in our Tontine pillows and Tontine quilts, which has saved countless tonnes of plastic bottles from going into the ocean and landfill.

Where possible, we try to eliminate the use of plastic altogether, by packing products in reusable calico bags for example. And we’ve also introduced more products made from renewable natural materials, such as wool, feather and down and organic cotton.

While we know we’ve still got a way to go to become fully sustainable, we are well on our way and already doing our bit to help make the world a better place for everyone.

To support us on this journey, please reuse your quilt and pillow bags wherever possible, look for products featuring recycled polyester icons and GRS (Global Recycled Standard) logos at leading retailers across Australia, and continue to support local manufacturers like us, who offer products with reduced carbon footprints by not transporting finished products from overseas and that care about our collective futures and the environment that we all share.
